this has been a problem for the last year, doing it a couple times a month. Since I loaded the July update, it's 5 or 6 times a day. Load VINS, will freeze for 5 mins or for ever, need to reboot PC. Posts all over Ford message board. What's going on.

Nice description : 'motor'. For all of them. No 'defrost', 'blend' or any other hints, just a picture with them hanging out in space around every thing else. Maybe I can go out and pull the IP out to get a number off the old one. We are not the engineers that designed the car. We are not technicians to 'just know' where something is. Even if we did, when the parts are just hanging in air we wouldn't know anyway.
I see that with 'sensor' on various cars too. At least those have multiple basic PN's to try and decipher. Is there a way this can be made more time consuming and frustrating? Tell the brain trust at Ford that I said thanks.

Ever had a picture vanish and not come back? Was looking for transmission parts for a Fusion 5 speed, put in the basic and got the pic, arrowed over and back, the original pic would not come up, like it was never there. Took the VIN out, tried it again, same result, and the 6 speed trans never popped up at all. reloaded MCAT and then all the pics showed up arrowing back and forth. Happened earlier with some other part, had to reload to get it to come up. I loaded a patch at the beginning of the month, along with the price update, but it was prior to loading the May CD, because I didn't get it till the 5th or 6th. Was the patch for this, do I need to reload the patch even if it was for something else?

VIN 9BB07024 shows Cummins diesel under the VCIS/VBOM tag. So does 9BB07112, do they all?

I'm thinking it was April, did not have May update yet. VIN was 6NB43429, there is a listing for May. Only rear came up on a 1V125 search.
Side note, ever had a picture vanish and not come back? Was looking for transmission parts for a Fusion 5 speed, put in the basic and got the pic, arrowed over and back, the original pic would not come up, like it was never there. Took the VIN out, tried it again, same result, and the 6 speed trans never popped up at all. reloaded MCAT and then all the pics showed up arrowing back and forth. Happened earlier with some other part, had to reload to get it to come up. Now, was it this same glitch that prevented 1V125 rotors from showing?

Are you telling me V10 Rangers don't exist? Wow, I've been searching Ebay and all the used car sites looking for one so I could pull my boat.

Actually, I kind of missed Bigmac's(?) posts about all the problems he encountered and pointed out. I was just being colorful. Kidding aside, no matter who supplied all this info, we pay alot to use it and if I listed every questionable thing I found I would be here all day, that is the point. If you need to disassemble a car to get part numbers so you can be "sure", what's the point of the catalog? At some point you need to go by the info at hand, VIN or not. Things like a V10 Ranger, Super Duty F150's, no filtering even with a VIN, some 2010 vehicles don't come up by VIN, and not just the one that was built this month. Wrong oil filters. Little things maybe, but constantly second guessing the catalog gets old. And on the Ford supplies the info to all of the catalogs? Then why do some of the other systems have correct info? I have called other dealers to verify things and they do not always have the same answer, or as many choices. Looked up a plug for an 01 Ranger 4.0 today. MCat says SP440. I don't have any, never did. No dealers close by have any, the parts store didn't have any, so I asked what they did have for it, they tell me their book says SP498. I dig out my Motorcraft book and gee, it says SP498. Should I have to jump hoops for spark plugs, tell Joe Customer to bring me in an old one? VBOM everything? So , yeah, guy says he has an 07 Edge and the catalog only has 1 listing. And to shovel it on Ford for every error, I don't buy.

Mr. Customer has an 07 Edge, needs a wheel, does not have a VIN handy. Punch in 1007, only 1 choice comes up, and that is 17". Mr. C. looks at picture, " yes, that's it". problem is, no it's not. He has 18" wheels, which we found out when we tried to mount it.

VIN 7NA15381. Find a driveshaft.. 4602 basic, Microcat is unable to display results, says I should enter a VIN and try my luck again. wait, I had the VIN in, let's try something else. let's go to powertrain and look at pictures. nothing there either, hmmmm. oh, there is one for the front, and the only one that has a part number. except this is not a 4X4. well, lets keep scrolling. there it is 4R602, I left out the 'R'..... no again, does not apply to vehicle. WTF?? with the VIN out, 4602 comes up with a 7L3Z-4602-J, it is wrong, even though clicking on it brings up the picture of the one I need, with a carrier bearing. But now, the 4R602 that did not apply has number and it is the one I wanted, only I ordered the wrong (4602) one thanks to this hap- hazard system. thanks
