Topic: lets put in a VIN and not find a part, then get the wrong part
Posted: Thursday, February 25, 2010 3:04:09 AM
hi donflm,

You are correct. It does not display any results. It appears the data came from Ford that way. I will submit a correction.

That being said, to find the correct part, I used the Idetification Number from the VCIS information - 6L344K145FC. By doing an Identification Number search in Microcat, it gave me part 6L3Z-4R602-D, which has an OSI to 8L3Z-4R602-E. Another way you could find the number is by searching for the Basic Number 4R602, but removing the checks from the Interpretation Boxes in the search screen. This would display all numbers available, which would eventually lead you to the same part number.

Thank you for pointing out the issue. I will make sure it gets addressed. As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call our Customer Support lines at (888) 929-5599.

Thank you,

Michael Magee

Hi Greg,

This issue usually occurs whenever another program, such as a virus scan, attempts to access a file that is currently being used by Microcat. This will cause the appearance of the MCFNA folder in the corner of your screen, which will slow-down and/or freeze the program.

You may want to try calling our Customer Support line again. There are few fixes we can try, such as adding key Microcat files to the DEP (Data Execution Prevention) files list in order to prevent any other programs from accessing them.

Again, our Customer Service number is 888-929-5599.

Thank you,

Hi bigmac,

According to the VIN you provided, the vehicle is a 2001 Crown Victoria. The part number that you are saying is the correct part is 1L2Z 6250-AA, which is for a 2007 Crown Victoria. Has the engine been replaced on this vehicle before? Has there been any engine work done that may have resulted in a newer part being required?

Thank you,

Michael Magee

Hi randy,

That error usually means that either your Mail Server information is incorrect or your server requires a Username and Password. Please verify the information with your IT person.

Hi bigmac,

I will need to know for which vehicle you are performing the search, as this part works on quite a few different vehicles in varying years.

Hi Roy@Hometown Ford,

There is an issue with some antivirus software removing the Print32.exe file during the update this month. There is a way to prevent this. Your antivirus software will need to be directed to allow the installation of the this file. Since each antivirus program is different, you may need to contact our Customer Support lines for assistance at 888-929-5599 and press 1.

Thank you,
